DIY Bridal Shower Decorations
1. Hanging Flowers
This is SUCH a classy option in terms of DIY bridal shower decorations. Who doesn’t love to see florals in a unique pattern? It adds color and femininity, and as you can see, it doesn’t take a lot of flowers to pull off the desired look.
Florists will charge you an arm and a leg, and brides end up paying so much for flowers for the wedding events. Why not give them a break from paying a ton, but still let them have the flowers?
All you need for this project is a single bouquet of whatever flowers your bride likes. Make sure the color of the flowers coordinates with the theme as well. Then, find some ribbon or even fishing line, and hang them from from a dowel, rod, or whatever else you may want!
This makes such a pretty backdrop! It’s super easy, and costs so little. Literally a no brainer!
2. Wood Pallet
So many stores are just throwing away their wood pallets out back. Take a little drive, and you’ll find some. If you don’t find any, search it up on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, you’ll be able to find something for sure.
Wood pallets have made an appearance in wedding decor for a while now, they are total classics, and for good reason. Wood pallets are inexpensive and they are super cute to hang photos on when they are painted or stained. You can add florals, greenery, or even balloons.
Keep in mind, when looking for a good wood pallet to use for your DIY bridal shower decorations, you’ll want to find one that doesn’t have a lot of bright paint on them already, especially if you plan to stain it. The colors will show through, and it won’t look as good.
Enjoy your super cute and rustic DIY decor with this super cheap and cute option!
3. Modern Wreath
I can’t get over how cute these wreaths are. They are simple, classy, and seriously stunning. They will never go out of style.
There are a lot of ways to accomplish this DIY look. The most inexpensive way to create this look is to find some round wire, maybe even a tomato cage, or something from the dollar store. You can then spray paint it gold, and add either real or faux greenery.
If you are willing to spend a bit more, you can find a gold wreath ring from a craft store, and then use whatever greenery and florals you want. To attach your florals, you can use floral tape or hot glue. Pick your fancy!
This is one of my absolute favorites of the DIY bridal shower decorations. It’s simple, and so easy. The end result is so pretty, your bride is going to love it.
4. Balloon Arch
Balloon arches are everywhere nowadays. Why not bring it to your bridal shower?! If you plan ahead, you can find some super cute colors that will look great, and even some with patterns.
If you don’t want to do this completely from scratch, there are some kits you can find on Etsy. This is a hybrid DIY option 🙂
To save more on the project though, you can create this with balloons from the dollar store, and string them together! There are some great tutorials on YouTube that go into more detail. If you’re willing to put in the time to blow up the balloons and string them, the result is amazing!
5. Gold Spray Paint
I be you’ve never thought about half the things you could spray point gold, but DANG!! This pineapple painted gold is so cute! You could paint fruit, flowers, even succulents.
Isn’t this such a cute and unique idea? And gold is totally all the rage right now. Even if you use the painted items as little accents, they will make your whole design 10 times cuter!
To paint your items, you have a couple of options for what paint to use. Spray paint is easy and a great option. Another way to make your pineapples (or whatever you choose to paint) shine is by using gold rub-n-buff. Either one works, both are cute!
6. Butcher Paper Sign
Everyone likes a good sign, I mean, they are so cute! Sometimes they are expensive though, and hard to pull off. This is such a good idea to make it more affordable, easy, and super cute!
Butcher paper isn’t used enough in my opinion. You can make it whatever you want, but even just using a white marker, you can make it look amazing.
Practice a few calligraphy fonts and decide what you want to write before putting pen to paper. When you hang it, you can use sticky tack, tape, or whatever you want. Try hanging some greenery, florals, or balloons around it!
7. Picture Collage
What’s better than pictures? Not much! They bring back memories, they are cute, and honestly they are perfect when you are making DIY bridal shower decorations.
This example is so perfect, by coordinating the pictures by putting them all in black and white, you can use basically any grouping of pictures you want. And so cute to string them in a ring (made out of a hula hoop probably, with ribbon wrapped around it).
If you don’t to do that, you can print out various sizes of photos and make a wall collage. You can also hang them on the wood pallet from the previous example. If you have some extra picture frames, feel free to use those.
Printing pictures is relatively cheap, and it is a very cute way to decorate. During your party, it helps spark conversation, and after the party the bride gets to keep them! Bonus gift!
8. Tool Backdrop
Isn’t this image so pretty? Forget about using dollar store backdrops (which are also good), but this will take your backdrop to the next level, look like you tried a little more, and you still won’t spend a ton of money!
To recreate this, all you really need is some tool fabric from a craft store near you. You can layer them together and then bunch them at the bottom if you want.
Seriously though, if I were to do this DIY project for a bridal shower, I would combine the hanging flowers and layer them on top of the tool backdrop! The options are endless, but it’s a great addition to the decor.
You can have the backdrop standing alone, place a refreshments table in from of it, or even put a chair or couch in front of it for guests to sit in or use in photos!
9. Vintage Picture Frames
This may seem totally random, but vintage picture frames are a gold mine for DIY bridal shower decorations. These frames are intricate and tasteful. They are also usually fairly easy to find at thrift shops or estate sales for cheap.
After collecting a few frames, you can coordinate them by painting them white or gold. If they are already coordinated then totally skip that step!
Hanging them and then arranging greenery or florals on them makes a super pretty collage! This would be perfect on a wall behind refreshments, or behind a sofa or chairs.
